Faith

This post was originally shared on my Instagram in May of 2020. It is the seventh of nine posts in the Virtue Series.

“FAITH is the theological virtue by which we believe in God and believe all that he has said and revealed to us, and that Holy Church proposes for our belief, because he is truth itself. By faith "man freely commits his entire self to God."
For this reason the believer seeks to know and do God's will.” -CCC 1814

The sins agains faith are voluntary doubt (not to be confused with involuntary doubt, which is not a sin), incredulity, heresy, apostasy, and schism.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old received divine approval. By faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things which do not appear.” Hebrews 11:1-3

I had all sorts of thoughts scrambling around in my brain about faith but I am just going to stop here and say that the priest in that photo below is a dear friend and a good and holy man and (edited) since I posted this last summer he has moved away and I just miss him so much.

Heavenly Father, protect your holy priests and if it be Your will, give us many more courageous men as shepherds.

Praise be Jesus Christ, now and forever.
